Dr. Kouzes received her undergraduate degree in 2002 from the University of California at Santa Cruz in molecular, cellular and developmental biology and received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University of Western States College of Chiropractic in 2007. Dr. Kouzes is currently enrolled part-time in a master of public health program at the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health.
Her practice emphasis is on conditions involving muscles, bones, joints, and nerves. Treatment usually includes muscle work, exercises, and chiropractic adjustments performed either manually or tool assisted. Dr. Kouzes also takes time to understand a patient's whole health, allowing an hour or more for new patient visits. She enjoys working with patients and other health professionals to find appropriate solutions to whatever health conditions and goals there may be.
Dr. Kouzes has gained a passion for public protection and chiropractic regulation after being appointed by the Governor to the Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners in 2013 and serving two consecutive terms ending in 2019. She remains active with the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards as a District Director and serves as an expert witness and consultant on medicolegal cases including chiropractic malpractice. In 2020, Dr. Kouzes became a Regional Medical Director at the CHP Group and was chosen in 2021 to serve as the chiropractic physician on the Evidence-based Guidelines Subcommittee of the Health Evidence Review Commission for the Oregon Health Authority.
When not working, Dr. Kouzes enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and daughter. Other activities and areas of interest are jogging, growing vegetables, restoring nature areas, and hiking.
