Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. David Truong, who serves patients in Fountain Valley, California.

Dr. Truong is a gastroenterology specialist in Fountain Valley, California, having been practicing for 25 years. He offers a wide range of gastroenterology services, including the testing, prevention, and treatment of liver diseases, digestive diseases, colon cancer, and other GI symptoms.

Striving to offer the best in GI care, his approach is crafted ‘just for you’. Dr. Truong utilizes the most progressive treatments and procedures to address a wide range of gastrointestinal diseases and symptoms, while giving special attention to one’s individual diet and lifestyle. His goal is simple: to provide the highest quality medical care and patient service possible.

Holding an academic title, he serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine.

A graduate of the University of California Davis School of Medicine, Dr. Truong did his training in internal medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. He then further trained in gastroenterology at the Tufts University Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. 

Following his training, he attained board certification in gastroenterology and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Offering a uniquely personal approach to patient care, Dr. Truong belongs to the following professional organizations. These include the American Gastroenterology Association; the Orange County Gastroenterology Society; the Association of Volunteer Faculty Physicians, University of California; and the Association of Faculty Physicians, School of Medicine, University of California, Irvine.

In California, he is affiliated with Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center & MemorialCare, Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center.
