Get to know Physician Assistant Dr. Andrew Evans, who serves patients in El Paso, Texas.

Dr. Evans is a seasoned orthopedic physician assistant currently in practice at Sun City Orthopedic & Hand Surgery Specialists in El Paso, Texas. His goal is to help patients reduce their pain and return to the activities they enjoy through non-surgical means if at all possible.

Sun City Orthopedic & Hand Surgery Specialists has been serving the El Paso area since 2012. Their team is made up of highly experienced specialists who focus on the most important and prudent aspects of orthopedic surgery. They believe that, in order to provide quality care, it is crucial to listen to the needs of their patients as well as to involve them in the treatment plan.

A US Army Veteran, Dr. Evans graduated with his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He then earned his Doctor of Science degree in Clinical Orthopedics from Baylor University in 2019.

In addition to his excellent educational background, Dr. Evans is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. It is the only certifying organization for PAs in the United States.

Highlighting his dedication to the field and his commitment to professional development, he is an active member of the Society of Army Physician Assistants and the Physician Assistants in Orthopedic Surgery.

A Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) is a health care practitioner who practices medicine in collaboration with physicians. PAs are medical professionals, educated in the medical model to complement physician training, and assist the physician in many aspects of the practice. PAs are trained to take medical histories, perform physical examinations, order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnose illness, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and assist in surgery.
