Get to know Physician Assistant, T.J. Bonjour, who serves patients in Texas.

T.J. is an accomplished and dedicated professional medical clinician and educator with a wealth of experience in developing healthcare systems, nurturing staff, and mentoring trainees. He has a strong track record of building lasting relationships with collaborative healthcare institutions and training facilities. A natural leader, he excels in team management, consistently demonstrating initiative and possessing a talent for solving complex problems.

Serving in dual roles, T.J. holds the position of Associate Dean with responsibilities spanning both the US Air Force and US Army since June 2019. In addition, he is on Staff Emergency Medicine PA within the United States Air Force, a role he has held since December 2018. His work is based at the Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center, where he brings his expertise to the forefront of emergency medicine practice and academic leadership.

T.J.’s educational journey commenced with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies, successfully completing the Interservice Physician Assistant Program (IPAP) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He then pursued a Master of Physician Assistant Studies Degree in Family Medicine at the said institution, followed by a Doctor of Science Degree in Clinical Emergency Medicine from Baylor University.

A Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) is a health care practitioner who practices medicine in collaboration with physicians.  PAs are medical professionals, educated in the medical model to complement physician training, and assist the physician in many aspects of the practice. PAs are trained to take medical histories, perform physical examinations, order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnose illness, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and assist in surgery.
