A native of South Florida, Dr. Markley’s academic journey has been nothing short of remarkable. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Medical Illustration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Tulane University. Her pursuit of medical excellence led her to the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine, where she earned her Medical Degree.
Further honing her skills, Dr. Markley performed her residency in general surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Following this, she served as a Senior Registrar at The Hospital For Sick Children and as a Research Fellow at The Institute of Child Health, both in London, England. She then relocated to the United States, completing her fellowship in pediatric surgery at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital - OU Health in Oklahoma City.
Dr. Markley’s dedication to her field is evident through her board certifications in pediatric and adult general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. In addition, she is an esteemed member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association and a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics, upholding the highest standards of surgical care.
