Kaiser Permanente Antioch Medical Center is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Santosh Bhaskarabhatla, MD, to its team of esteemed healthcare providers.
A general neurologist with a passion for patient-centered care, Dr. Bhaskarabhatla brings a wealth of experience and a dedication to excellence in the field of neurology. His decision to specialize in neurology was inspired by his grandfather, who lived with epilepsy, instilling in him a deep sense of empathy and a commitment to treating patients as he would his own family.
“I chose to work at Kaiser Permanente because of the emphasis on the patient-doctor relationship, and the ability for doctors to advocate for their patients. Secondly, as a doctor at Kaiser Permanente, I simply can prescribe a treatment based on clinical evidence. Thirdly, I believe that Kaiser Permanente has built a culture of excellent teamwork between physicians and all the important members of the medical team to provide excellent care to all of our patients.”
A well-traveled individual, Dr. Bhaskarabhatla spent his formative years in various regions, including India, Northern Ireland, and New Jersey, eventually pursuing his academic interests in Biochemical Sciences and Sanskrit at Harvard College. Following a diverse career path that included laboratory research and entrepreneurship, he transitioned to medicine, earning his Medical Doctorate from Rutgers RWJMS in 2018 and completing his residency training in neurology at the said establishment from 2018 to 2022.
Navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic during his residency, Dr. Bhaskarabhatla witnessed firsthand the impact of the crisis on patients and families, reinforcing his resolve to provide compassionate care in all circumstances. His fellowship training at the Montefiore Headache Center further honed his expertise in neurology, preparing him to address a wide range of neurological conditions with skill and compassion.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Bhaskarabhatla enjoys spending time with family and friends, engaging in outdoor activities such as hiking and camping, reading, and exploring the wonders of astronomy.
