About

About me
I am Olushola Balogun, "Shola" MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, a highly experienced and board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with over 17 years in the medical field, including the last 7 years dedicated to mental health. My extensive background spans inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, rehabilitation, corrections, and psychotherapy.

I believe that mental health deserves the same level of care and attention as physical health. I conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations to diagnose and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. Routine follow-up visits ensure ongoing monitoring of symptoms and medication effectiveness, optimizing patient outcomes.

Offering a comprehensive range of therapeutic interventions, I specialize in education, medication management, and counseling. I provide compassionate care for individuals aged 13 to older adults 65+, creating a positive and healing environment for my clients and their families. I treat everyone with respect, dignity, and compassion, embodying a patient-centered care philosophy that empowers my clients and considers all effective treatment strategies.

I am committed to fostering a warm, safe, and judgment-free environment where clients can feel secure and supported on their journey to mental wellness. Trust me to provide the expert care and compassionate support you need to achieve better mental health and an improved quality of life.

Treatment philosophy

At Living Spring Family Psychiatry, we believe in a holistic approach to mental health care. We recognize that mental well-being is influenced by various factors, such as physical health, relationships, and personal experiences. We incorporate supportive therapy into our practice to assist clients in coping with their symptoms, improving their quality of life, and enhancing their overall mental well-being. Supportive therapy is grounded in establishing a therapeutic alliance between the client and the therapist. This alliance serves as a foundation for trust, empathy, and collaboration throughout the therapeutic process. By fostering a supportive and nonjudgmental environment, clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
