Transforming Healthcare Through Expertise and Commitment to Community Wellness

Austin, Texas – In a time when healthcare leadership has never been more critical, Shiva Pejman-Aryan, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, stands out as a transformative force in the nursing profession. A Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) candidate at the University of Texas at Arlington, Pejman-Aryan has built an inspiring and multifaceted career that spans clinical care, higher education, research, and advocacy for equitable, patient-centered health systems.

With years of experience as an RN and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and a reputation for academic excellence, Pejman-Aryan is redefining what it means to be a modern healthcare leader. Currently seeking job opportunities between her outstanding options with more alignment with her purposes and interests, Shiva serves as Clinical Faculty at Austin Community College, shaping the next generation of nurses with compassion and evidence-based practice.

Her clinical expertise spans endocrinology, cardiovascular health, psychiatric care, diabetes management, and functional medicine. In both urban and underserved settings, Pejman-Aryan delivers comprehensive, integrative care with a focus on patient education, cultural sensitivity, and long-term health outcomes.

“My goal is to treat the whole person, not just the disease,” Pejman-Aryan explains. “This means listening deeply, addressing root causes, and empowering patients through education and preventive care.”

Pejman-Aryan is currently completing a post-graduate APRN certificate in Endocrinology at Duke University, further deepening her specialization in managing complex hormonal disorders, metabolic syndromes, and weight-related conditions.

Pejman-Aryan’s commitment to excellence has earned her national recognition, including the 2025 Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare Award. She is also a multi-time recipient of the Graduate Dean’s Excellence Scholarship, the Dean’s Award for Clinical Excellence, and the Advanced Practice Scholarship for Academic Merit from the University of Texas at Arlington.

In 2023, she was honored as a nominee for the prestigious Daisy Award at St. David's North Austin—an award that celebrates nurses who go above and beyond in delivering compassionate and skillful care.

Pejman-Aryan's scholarly work includes multiple peer-reviewed publications focused on leadership in nursing, health equity, and interdisciplinary care models. She has delivered numerous professional presentations and workshops focused on functional approaches to chronic disease, compassion fatigue in nursing, and inclusive patient engagement strategies.

As a bilingual practitioner (English and Farsi), Pejman-Aryan has long been dedicated to serving diverse communities. She has worked as a medical interpreter for the Texas School for the Deaf and for several nonprofit organizations focused on healthcare access and refugee support.

Her experiences as a public speaker, educator, and health coach have further amplified her impact, especially in the areas of preventive care, mental health awareness, nutrition, and women's wellness.

She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Functional Medicine Association (AFMA), American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE), Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, The Endocrine Society, and the International Society for Nurses in Endocrinology.

Looking ahead, Pejman-Aryan plans to expand her work in healthcare innovation by launching interdisciplinary wellness programs and research collaborations that bridge endocrinology, mental health, and integrative medicine.

She is particularly focused on the intersection of chronic disease and lifestyle interventions, exploring how diet, mindfulness, cultural beliefs, and trauma-informed care can be leveraged to improve health outcomes, especially among historically underserved populations.
