Fractured forearm issues?
Daniel, Im sorry to hear about the severity of your injury and the challenges youve faced since. I recognize how difficult and concerning this must be for you. Its challenging to provide definitive guidance without a thorough review of your surgical records, imaging, and clinical history. That said, tendon repair and reconstruction are timesensitive procedures, and outcomes depend on several factorsincluding tissue quality, nerve involvement, and the time elapsed since the initial injury. In some chronic cases, tendon transfers may be considered to help restore function, but these decisions must be made on a casebycase basis. I strongly encourage you to seek a second opinion with a boardcertified Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon with specific expertise in microvascular repair and tendon transfers, ideally at a Level I trauma center where comprehensive reconstructive care resources are readily available. Best wishes, Dr.Chad CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE This email and any attachments are intended solely for the designated recipients and may contain confidential, privileged, or proprietary information. About my two sons with DMD?
Thank you for reaching out. I appreciate the trust youve placed in sharing your sons situation. While neuromuscular scoliosis is not my direct area of specialization, I want to offer what guidance I can. In the context of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy DMD, scoliosis can become a critical issueparticularly when respiratory function is beginning to decline. If forced vital capacity FVC is still above 40 and the spinal curve falls in the 2040 degree range, early posterior spinal fusion is usually recommended to slow progression and preserve pulmonary function. That said, a comprehensive cardiac and pulmonary workup is critical before moving forward and should be performed at a center familiar with the surgical and perioperative challenges specific to DMD. Given your sons ages and the fact that one is already experiencing compromised breathing, I would encourage you to proceed without delay. Centers with highvolume experience in neuromuscular scoliosis and Duchenne care are best equipped to assess and coordinate the next steps. A few institutions with strong programs in this space include University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Cincinnati Childrens Hospital UC Medical Center Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia CHOP Boston Childrens Hospital Wishing you and your family strength as you navigate the next steps, and please feel free to reach out if I can be of further help. Dallas, TX — Dr. Vivek Chadayammuri, MD, a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, now offers advanced hip and knee replacement care to patients across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. His clinical focus includes minimally invasive surgery, robotic-assisted techniques, and complex revision procedures for failed, infected, or unstable implants. His approach is defined by precision, thoughtful recovery planning, and a deep commitment to restoring mobility and quality of life. Many of his patients can avoid general anesthesia altogether, thanks to modern intravenous anesthetic protocols and opioid-sparing strategies designed to support faster, safer recoveries.
Dr. Chadayammuri graduated with highest honors from the University of Colorado on a full merit-based Boettcher Scholarship. He earned triple majors in Biochemistry, Neuroscience, and Molecular Biology, along with triple minors in Applied Mathematics, Analytical Chemistry, and Civil Leadership. This academic foundation reflects both scientific rigor and cross-disciplinary thinking. He completed his medical degree at the University of Colorado School of Medicine with honors and a Certificate in Global Health Studies. He then trained in orthopedic surgery at the University of Connecticut, followed by a prestigious fellowship in adult hip and knee reconstruction at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He later refined his surgical technique and care philosophy through close mentorship with Dr. Roger Emerson Jr., MD—a nationally recognized figure in joint arthroplasty whose mentorship lineage traces back to Dr. William Head, one of the pioneers of total hip replacement in the United States.
In parallel with his clinical work, Dr. Chadayammuri has made substantial academic contributions to the field of orthopedic surgery. He has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed research papers, presented at over 20 national and international conferences, and serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Arthroplasty. He has also held multiple leadership roles focused on optimizing surgical efficiency, recovery pathways, and musculoskeletal care delivery at the system level.
For patients, his impact is tangible. In the past year alone, Dr. Chadayammuri has received over 230 verified patient reviews, earning an average rating of 4.9 out of 5.0. Patients routinely emphasize his comprehensive clinical evaluations, surgical precision, and clear, reassuring communication throughout the perioperative process—all contributing to a care experience focused on achieving the best possible outcomes.
Dr. Chadayammuri is now accepting new patients. Whether you are exploring your first joint replacement or need care after a prior surgery, his practice is built on a simple promise: to guide each patient forward with clarity, precision, and compassion.
