Integrative and hands-on approach to holistic patient care arrives in Granbury, Texas

Granbury, TX — June 24, 2025 — Lake Granbury Graduate Medical Education proudly announces the recent appointment of Dr. Jonathan S. Cheon, D.O., to its growing residency program, bringing a fresh focus to Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatments (ONMM/OMT). With a distinguished academic and professional background, Dr. Cheon enhances the region’s medical community by being a part of the inpatient ONMM consult service team and through his commitment to preventive, integrative, and sports medicine modalities as well.

Dr. Cheon, a Michigan native and graduate of Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, has distinguished himself through leadership roles and academic excellence, serving as the Vice President of the Student American Academy of Osteopathy (SAAO) and as a teaching assistant in OMM labs. While earning his osteopathic medical degree, he also pursued additional certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a certified personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist. These accomplishments reflect his dedication to a holistic, hands-on philosophy that integrates body mechanics, function, and wellness.

Dr. Cheon’s clinical expertise encompasses musculoskeletal, neurologic, and complex chronic conditions, ranging from fibromyalgia and craniosacral dysfunctions to sports-related injuries and pain syndromes. Emphasizing personalized, manual medicine approaches, he treats patients across all age groups using state-of-the-art osteopathic manipulative techniques. A member of both the American Academy of Osteopathy and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, he actively stays abreast of the latest advances in preventive medicine and musculoskeletal care.

Dr. Cheon also serves in the ONMM Clinic at UNTHSC Health Pavilion in Fort Worth. He is fluent in English and Korean, and maintains a patient-focused approach grounded in compassion, integrity, and cultural sensitivity. His values—rooted in faith and supported by strong family and community networks—inform his empathetic bedside manner.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Cheon is an avid musician (piano, guitar, cello), sports enthusiast (particularly basketball and volleyball), and an aspiring social media advocate for osteopathy, mental health, and self-improvement. His multifaceted interests in performing arts, medicine, and sports medicine drive both his clinical practice and contributions to medical education.
