Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Dawn A. Cashie, who serves patients in Burbank, California.

Dr. Cashie is a caring and compassionate obstetrician-gynecologist with Providence Medical Institute – Burbank Women’s Health Center. She is also affiliated with Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center.

Her clinical areas of expertise include the full spectrum of obstetrics and gynecology, from puberty to menopause and infertility. She also has a special interest in high-risk obstetrics. 

Within her practice, the goal is to provide a friendly, warm environment where women can be treated with the special care they deserve and the utmost courtesy and respect. Every aspect of the practice is designed with the patient’s comfort and care in mind.

In a partnership that honors patient individuality and dignity, Dr. Cashie is committed to excellence in comprehensive health care for women. Her approach involves understanding the patient’s health care needs and implementing state-of-the-art techniques and compassionate care.

With regards to pregnancy, “It’s your body and your pregnancy.” Dr. Cashie understands this and is here to help guide each woman through this important step in their life. She also specializes in high risk pregnancies, including nausea and vomiting, diabetes, hypertension, preeclampsia, multiple gestation, preterm delivery, fetal growth restriction, cervical insufficiency, and much more. Additionally, her practice treats a wide variety of women’s health issues.

Educated in the United States, Dr. Cashie graduated with her medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in 1993. She then went on to perform her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Adventist Health White Memorial in 1994 and 1997, respectively.

Specializing in women’s health, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Among her professional affiliations, Dr. Cashie is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists & a member of the Los Angeles OB/GYN Society. 

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts). An obstetrician-gynecologist specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases and disorders that affect women, such as breast cancer, cervical cancer, and menopause. Additionally, they work with expecting mothers throughout their pregnancies, during childbirth, and into postpartum. 

An authority in her field, Dr. Cashie has been the recipient of a Patient’s Choice Award (2018, 2009, 2008) and Top 10 Doctor – City (2014).

Outside of practicing medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family, as well as skiing, hiking, and camping. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
