Richard L. Van Buskirk, DO, PhD, FAAO, is an internationally recognized osteopathic physician who has been in private practice in Sarasota, Florida, for more than 35 years. Board Certified in both Family Medicine and Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, he is renowned for his clinical expertise, teaching, and contributions to the advancement of osteopathic manipulative techniques. Before earning his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Van Buskirk obtained his PhD in Physiology and Neuroscience from Duke University, where he also served as an Associate Professor. His academic background laid the foundation for his pioneering work in osteopathy, particularly the rediscovery and redevelopment of one of Dr. Andrew Taylor Still’s primary manipulative methods, known today as the Still Technique. Dr. Van Buskirk is a Fellow of the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO) and has served on its Board of Governors for nearly three decades.
