Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Raseefa Anwar, who serves patients in Johns Creek, Georgia.

Dr. Anwar is a pediatrician who is currently serving patients at Children’s Medical Group, P.C. in Georgia. Since 1947, Children’s Medical Group has been providing comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence based medical care for children from the newborn period up to 21 years of age. The team of professionals at the practice are constantly striving to embrace the latest medical knowledge and to implement new technological advances in the field of pediatrics.

Dr. Anwar was born in the small South Asian country of Bangladesh, and moved as a young girl to Queens, New York. She received her undergraduate degree from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education in New York City, New York. Thereafter, she went on to obtain her medical degree at the Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. She also completed her residency in pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Pediatrics in Brooklyn, New York.

Following residency, Dr. Anwar spent just over a year practicing general pediatrics at a clinic in Syracuse, New York. During this time, she fell in love and got married in Long Island just days after Hurricane Sandy. She then moved to Atlanta, where she is enjoying the opportunity to put away her snow shovel and to begin her new life as a Southerner. She is glad to have the support of her husband and his extended family, all of whom have lived in the Johns Creek area for many years.

Dr. Anwar is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). Founded in 1933, the ABP is one of the 24 certifying boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).

Dr. Anwar is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatricians (AAP). The AAP is an organization of 67​,000 pediatricians committed to the optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.​

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. As a pediatrician, Dr. Anwar’s main occupational tasks involve providing medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. She is responsible for examining, diagnosing, and treating children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses.

In her spare time, Dr. Anwar enjoys traveling, cycling all over Atlanta, eating out in local and ethnic restaurants, reading, writing, and cuddling up with her doggie. She is fluent in Bengali, and conversational in Hindi and Urdu.
