Dr. Corey Fearheiley is an accomplished medical professional serving as the Emergency Department Medical Director at Ascension Seton Medical Center Williamson in Round Rock, TX. Since joining the facility in 2008, he assumed the role of medical director in 2014. During his tenure as an attending physician, he introduced the "Nurses Niche" educational program for ED nurses, established the Ascension Seton Williamson ED Fund, and actively contributed as a Trauma Council member. Dr. Fearheiley played a crucial role in fostering a relationship between USACS and Austin's Circuit of the Americas, where he's been a part of the medical team since 2012. Get to know Emergency Physician Dr. Corey Fearheiley, who serves patients in Texas.
An experienced emergency physician, Dr. Fearheiley is the Chief of Staff & Chief of Emergency Medicine at Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital in Round Rock, Texas. He began working there in 2008 and assumed the Medical Director role in 2014.
Among his accomplishments as an attending physician, he initiated a monthly “Nurses Niche” educational program for ED nurses, created the Ascension Seton Williamson ED Fund to support members of the ED team, and has served as a member of the Trauma Council. He was involved in developing the Seton Provider Support Group, which supports providers from all specialties in times of need. He also serves as Co-Chair of the Ethics Committee at Seton Williamson, and is co-founder of a physician-owned group that teaches ACLS/PALS/BLS and CPR courses.
Educated in the United States, Dr. Fearheiley earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Medicine at Peoria in 2004. He then completed his residency in emergency medicine at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, where he received the Emergency Medicine Research Award for co‐inventing a device to increase a novice’s success rate in maintaining a secure airway, as well as the Daniel Gaughan Humanitarian Award.
Dedicated to clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). The ABEM certifies emergency physicians who meet its educational, professional, and examination standards.
Holding membership status, Dr. Fearheiley is an active member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, the Texas College of Emergency Physicians, the Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association, and the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.
Emergency medicine, also known as trauma and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of life threatening medical conditions or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. Emergency physicians are trained to care for a wide range of problems that require emergent medical help. These problems are often serious and may be life-threatening.
An avid Formula One racing fan, Dr. Fearheiley was instrumental in establishing a relationship between what is now USACS and Austin’s Circuit of the Americas, and he has been part of the track’s medical team since the facility opened in 2012. In addition, he has served as Burnet County Fire and EMS Medical Director.
Among his philanthropic endeavors include Round Rock Future Fund, Ascension Seton Williamson Foundation, and Dell’s Children’s Foundation.
Attributing his success to persistence, hard work, and focus, Dr. Fearheiley’s hobbies outside of medicine include exercising, being outdoors, and motorcycling.
