Frye Magnolia Clinic is proud to announce the continued contributions of Lucius (Luke) M. Lampton, MD, FAAFP, a distinguished family physician with over three decades of dedicated service in the medical field. Dr. Lampton, who is board-certified and licensed to practice in both Mississippi and Louisiana, is an invaluable asset to the community, providing exceptional care at Beacham Memorial Hospital in Magnolia, Mississippi.

Born in Jackson, Mississippi, Dr. Lampton earned his Medical Degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 1993. He completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center from 1993 to 1996, laying a strong foundation for his extensive career in family medicine.

Dr. Lampton’s commitment to public health and community service is exemplified by his tenure as Chairman of the Mississippi State Board of Health for over a decade. He has also played a significant role as Medical Director for various healthcare facilities, including Beacham Memorial Hospital. His leadership extends to the academic realm, where he dedicates time to teaching the next generation of healthcare professionals. As a Clinical Instructor and Professor of Medicine in Family Medicine, Dr. Lampton imparts knowledge to medical students, physician assistant students, and nurse practitioner students at esteemed institutions, including Tulane University School of Medicine, University of Mississippi Medical Center, William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Mississippi College.

Dr. Lampton’s professional accolades include being a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP) and serving on the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians. His commitment to the field is further evidenced by his board certification in family medicine by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons.

In addition to his clinical and educational roles, Dr. Lampton is an accomplished author. He penned the award-winning medical history “Images in Mississippi Medicine: A Photographic History of Medicine in Mississippi” in 2018, and contributed chapters on COVID-19 and Yellow Fever in the 2021 edition of “Conn’s Current Therapy.”
