A committed general surgeon, Dr. Bonville provides clinical care at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. He also serves as an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.

Before embarking on his professional journey, he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of New York in 1993, and received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1998. He then went on to complete his residency in general surgery at the Brooklyn Hospital Center, followed by an Advanced Laparoscopy fellowship at Wilford Hall Medical Center, and a trauma/critical care fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the doctor is board-certified in general surgery and critical care by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

On a professional level, Dr. Bonville is an active member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Surgical Critical Care Program Directors Society, and the Society of Alimentary Gastrointestinal & Endoscopic Surgeons.
