Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Frederick Staton, who serves patients in Brooklyn, New York.

Dr. Staton is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist at Brooklyn Plaza Medical Center, Inc. He provides a variety of physical, reproductive, and mental health services for women at all stages of life. 

Brooklyn Plaza Medical Center, Inc. is dedicated to improving the physical, spiritual, psycho-social, and psychological well-being of residents of North Central Brooklyn. This is done by providing the highest quality preventive comprehensive family health services with particular concern for lower-socio-economic groups.

At the start of his academic career, Dr. Staton earned his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in 1974. Upon graduation, he went on to perform his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Kings County Hospital Center.

A driving force in women’s healthcare, he is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics and gynecology. An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health. 

In practice for over four decades, Dr. Staton has been the recipient of several awards and honors, including Patients’ Choice Award (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018), Patients’ Choice 5th Anniversary Award (2016, 2018), and On-Time Doctor Award (2018).
