Get to know Anesthesiologist Dr. Maria Flaviana Lee, who serves patients in New York.

A highly trained anesthesiologist, Dr. Lee manages patient pain levels before, during, and after surgical procedures. She is determined to enhance her patients’ quality of life, providing high quality, individualized care in order to ensure the most optimal results. 

Licensed to practice medicine in both New York and California, she is affiliated with 307 Long Island Medical PC, King-chen Hon Office Based Endoscopy Pllc, Li Queens Medical Care PLLC, and Queens Midland Medical PC.

A 1958 graduate of the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Dr. Lee went on to perform her internship and residency in anesthesiology at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in 1959 and 1971, respectively. 

Holding over six decades of experience in her field, she is board-certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology. 

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery. In addition to basic measurements such as pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, they measure the patient’s respiration.

Her meticulous approach to patient care, coupled with her dedication to her work and her contributions to the field, makes Dr. Lee a very worthy winner of the 2018 Top Doctor Award.
