Dr. Amy Sheinberg is a psychodynamically oriented and integrative clinical psychologist with over 30 years of experience providing care to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She is known for her evidence-based, solution-focused approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Attachment Theory, and other well-researched modalities. Throughout her career, Dr. Sheinberg has guided patients through a wide range of challenges, including adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, ADHD, eating disorders, executive functioning deficits, and major life transitions. She specializes in helping individuals navigate both expected and unexpected changes, such as career shifts, relationship struggles, and the journey into mid-life or retirement. Dr. Sheinberg’s practice emphasizes building self-awareness, resilience, and practical coping strategies. By identifying unhelpful patterns and leveraging patients’ strengths, she helps them create meaningful, lasting change. She encourages clients to step outside their comfort zones, viewing personal growth and fulfillment as opportunities found beyond familiar boundaries. A graduate of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center-Dallas, Dr. Sheinberg earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology in 1993 and completed her post-doctoral fellowship at Timberlawn Hospital. She has served in both private practice and outpatient mental health settings, including Green Oaks Hospital and Timberlawn Mental Health System. Dr. Sheinberg is a member of the American Psychological Association, Texas Psychological Association, Dallas Psychological Association, and the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. She is also actively involved in the National Eating Disorders Association and the Academy for Eating Disorders.
