6 Gentle Workouts for Fibromyalgia Patients

The Feldenkrais method

The numerous theories behind fibromyalgia all point to improper brain coordination and misinterpretation towards stimuli of pain that is received. The Feldenkrais method of movement is designed to help, coordinate and reorganize or recalibrate the brain stimulus interpretation for improved physicality and psychology. Generally, this method involves a handful of slow yet steady, repetitive and intentional movement aimed at reorganizing the mind and body connections. The theory is to develop a mind-body-brain connection via the numerous small movements of muscles and joints. Most of the exercises of the Feldenkrais method are very therapeutic and essential in improving the motor cortex. This motor cortex is the part of the brain responsible for voluntary and intentional movement and is beneficial in improving movement, reduction of pain and stress of locomotion and fibromyalgia symptoms.
