3. Avoid certain foods, but stock up on others
Lupus is an inflammatory disease and while there is no cure, there are certainly things that can be done to avoid triggering an inflammatory response. One area in which that is relatively easy to do is with the foods that are consumed. Some foods such as those that are high in saturated fats and are almost certain to trigger an inflammatory response and they are found in fried foods, red meats and animal fat, whole milk, cheeses butter and ice cream. Foods that will help to strengthen the immune system are ones that are rich in antioxidants like fruits and vegetables, as well as omega-3 fatty acids found in fish, nuts, canola and olive oils.
