Diabetes Patients May Be at a Higher Risk for Strokes
Causes of a stroke
Strokes are due to a lack of blood supply, as well as the supply of oxygen, to the brain. This can be the result of various occurrences, one being that the supply of blood has suddenly stopped or has been slowed down, sometimes occurring from blood clots. There are three main types of strokes, which include ischemic, transient ischemic attack (TIA), and hemorrhagic. Of these, ischemic strokes are the most common, as they account for roughly 85 percent of all strokes.
