Overmedication in Nursing Homes Is Robbing Children of their Parents

While it is easy to look at these nursing homes with disgust, let’s consider the reality: the industry of people who take care of the elderly (such as nursing homes, assisted living homes, and other long-term options) is mostly funded by Medicare and Medicaid. As these government cuts to Medicare continue, resources and staff become scarce. To treat these patients in the way they need to be treated would involve a lot more resources and people.
