Positive Airway Pressure Therapy Improves Sleep Apnea Patients' Quality of Life

PAP: Improving the patient's quality of life

A recent study shows that PAP or Positive Airway Therapy can improve the quality of life among people who are suffering from OSA. It is a therapy that involves the use of mild air pressure levels that are provided through a mask. There are 3 common types of masks that are used for this therapy, namely the nasal mask, full face mask, and nasal pillows. The nasal mask only covers the nose while the full face mask covers both the nose and the mouth of the patient. On the other hand, the nasal pillows use silicon tubes that fit in the nose directly. Through this therapy, the throat is kept open as the patient sleeps.
