Study Reveals Most Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients Don't Exercise Enough

Don't work through the pain

The common phrase "no pain no gain" is one of the most misleading phrases when it comes to exercise. In actuality, pain is your bodies way of telling you that whatever you are doing is not working. Pain makes it impossible to gain any strength, balance, or flexibility from exercises, and trying to work through the pain will give you know benefits and increase the likelihood of serious injury. If you ever experience pain or severe discomfort during an exercise, stop immediately and try and rework your approach. On a related note, don't think that you have to exercise when your RA flares up. You're likely going through enough pain and discomfort those days as it is, and exercising will likely only make things worse.
