Cut back on caffeine
Caffeine may have certain health benefits, but unfortunately it is very detrimental to the bones. This is because caffeine prevents the body from absorbing calcium. The good news is that caffeine is only very harmful to the bones in large quantities. Researchers believe that more than 18 ounces of coffee a day, for example, could lead to problems absorbing caffeine. If you really need a cup of coffee in the morning, it won't do too much damage, but make sure you limit your caffeine intake the rest of the day. You should also boost your calcium and vitamin D to offset the effects that the caffeine will have on you.
