While there are positive results, people with muscular dystrophy have felt discriminated against in the workplace.
Positive results from the survey state that there are barriers that persist in the workplace, but many of those with disabilities were able to overcome their challenges. Approximately 45.3% of the respondents claimed they were satisfied with their jobs and job search, and 86.6% felt acceptance in their employment and workplace. Results looked at how people with Muscular Dystrophy (MD) felt and experienced barriers like finding work, discrimination in the workplace, wage disparity, and dismissive attitudes.
