The Affect of Negative Stigmas
The whirlwind of misinformation and negative stigmas can begin to take their toll on those diagnosed with any type of diabetes. With such information spreading, individuals with the disease are encountering serious psychological repercussions, as their confidence levels may start to drop. They may also feel as if they are outsiders, as there is a thought that they may not be included in certain activities. Another feeling that may result in victims includes one of blame, as they may feel that it is their fault, a thought process that should not be the case but has developed over the years. But how can an entire population make strides towards ridding of the stigma that comes with both Type 1 and 2 diabetes?
