Like Jane Pauley, British comedian, actor and activist Russell Brand was first treated for depression when he had manic episodes as well. Many know Brand from his appearances in several comedic movies and from his stand-up as well, but what many may not know about him is that he actually had symptoms of bipolar disorder when he was a teenager. Brand is not in the spotlight as much as he used to, but when he is in the spotlight he focuses his energy on helping those who are dealing with substance abuse issues, whether it be by acting as a sponsor or raising funds for Focus 12, which is a treatment program located in Britain. Alongside his bipolar diagnosis, he's also diagnosed with ADHD.
