Coping with Fibromyalgia During the Holiday Season

Unwinding on Valentine's Day

Sleep is important for every person, particularly to those with fibromyalgia. Too much stress due to the muscle pains is really a burden for them, and it gives them a hard time to sleep.

Organizing a sleeping schedule and waking up can be of help for it can adjust the body clock and make them sleep and wake up to their desired times. Naps should also be avoided if possible, especially after 3 o’clock in the afternoon.

After a movie date with that special one on Valentine’s Day, it may take up some time before feeling sleepy, especially if those boxes of chocolates were already refilling that lost energy. Taking a warm bath or reading books before bedtime is also a good way to relax and prepare your body for sleep. Making little changes in the room like making it look darker, using light garments and bed sheets, and removing distractions like televisions can also be a help.
