Understanding the root causes of MS

While MS is not one of the top chronic diseases in the United States, prioritizing and putting funding towards preventative care overall could positively impact MS rates. Unlike heart disease, we do not know the exact causes of MS, but we do have enough information to start prioritizing potentially beneficial preventative care measures such as focusing on EBV vaccine development. Of course developing treatments for people who have MS is important so that they can have an increased quality of life, but if we could prevent MS from developing in the first place, that would be ideal.
