It's one of the best aerobic exercises out there that don't worsen IBD symptoms. One study even found that Crohn's patients who use a stationary bike regularly were able to exercise until exhaustion without any flaring of their symptoms. No increase in symptoms was also found when patients continued this regimen for over 6 months.
