Possible Connection Between Potassium Deficiency and Fibromyalgia

Exercising daily, exploring different therapies, and eating a healthy diet

Exercising Daily

Exercising daily can generally boost the health of the person. Incorporating exercise into one’s daily routine can make a huge difference. Since people with fibromyalgia usually experience stiffness, having mild to moderate exercise can increase blood circulation. This can also alleviate severe mood swings and improve sleep. Fibromyalgia patients are encouraged to do aerobics, cycling, swimming, stretching, walking, and yoga. However, it is ideal that one talks with his or her physician beforehand. Exercising can be damaging if a person’s limit is being pushed.

Exploring Different Types of Therapy

A lot of therapy has already helped several fibromyalgia patients. However, the results of therapy aren’t always the same in every patient. Exploring different types of therapy is suggested. One can try heat or cold application on tender spots, acupuncture, chiropractic sessions, light aerobics, mild massages, and water therapy.

Eating a Healthy Diet

The right foods are a great source of energy. People with fibromyalgia often feel tired, so they need all the energy they could get. Changing an unhealthy diet can positively alter a person’s lifestyle if done consistently. People with fibromyalgia should refrain from eating food with added preservatives, aspartame, and MSG. Also, natural products and whole grain foods should be eaten as much as possible.
