Being There for a Loved One with Lymphoma
Talk with your loved one
Make sure you are talking to your loved one about how they want to move forward with their lives. Often times those close to the patient will try and help too much and make the patient feel bad. Losing your independence can be very difficult, so you want to make sure that your loved one feels comfortable with the responsibilities you are taking on. You do have to be careful to make sure that they aren't overexerting themselves, however. They should be talking with their doctors about what they should and should not be doing during the recovery process. Many lymphoma patients will feel fine part of the time, so it may not be necessary to help out every day.
