Being There for a Loved One with Lymphoma
Take care of yourself, too
In most cases, you will most likely be working yourself while your loved one deals with lymphoma. Often times people find that they feel guilty leaving their loved ones alone during the day. However, it is important to remember that you have a life to lead too. Patients tend to already feel bad taking so much of your attention, quitting your job or neglecting your other responsibilities for them will just make it feel worse.
It's typically a good idea to talk to your employer or professors about your situation as well. You may need to take time off or miss classes to accompany your loved one or deal with any emergencies that arise. Most people are very understanding and will make things much easier for you, and you can also reassure your loved one that you aren't going to have negative repercussions for helping them out.
