How does this program help teach about puberty?

Kids with autism have different challenges when it comes to learning. To help them, Dr. McKinnon-Bermingham’s decided to make a program to address these challenges. The team started the ATN/AIR-P Puberty and Adolescence Resource. With the help of an organization called Autism Speaks, they fearlessly tackled the sensitive topics surrounding puberty in a way that was geared towards autistic learning styles. They wanted to make things easier for children to understand, and kept their lessons very visual and engaging. Not only were skills explained in detail with attractive pictures, but the kids also got to practice the skills after learning them. The kids and parents reported that they loved the program for being informative and fun! Many of the participants also liked being able to meet other autistic kids to make friends.
