This Video Game Improves Balance in Kids with Autism
Final thoughts
If researchers are able to produce a version of the game that would be accessible outside of the lab, possibly in the homes of many with autism spectrum disorder, it could make a huge impact. It can be difficult for parents to find ways to aid in improving their children's balance, but making the process a game makes it so much more appealing to those involved. Those with autism are already used to being constantly analyzed and treated, so providing a method of treatment that seems like fun is a welcome relief both to children and parents. Hopefully Travers' new game becomes available publicly soon, and perhaps other researchers will follow in her footsteps to find new ways to make healing and strengthening fun.
