This Video Game Improves Balance in Kids with Autism
Who benefits the most?
Throughout the study, differences between participants were also analyzed to better understand who would be most likely to benefit from the game. For example, the researchers found that participants who had ritualistic behaviors did not benefit from the game as strongly as those who did not. However, traits that might be thought to contribute, like body mass index or IQ, did not show to particularly impact the efficacy of the game.
Travers explained why this might be, "there is a lot of variability in the clinical profile of ASD, and it's unlikely that there will be a one size fits all approach for balance training that helps all individuals with ASD."
