Blood in the urinealso called hematuriacan have many possible causes. Sometimes its due to things like exercise or minor irritation, but it can also be a sign of something affecting the kidneys or urinary tract.

Kidneyrelated causes might include infections, kidney stones, inflammation, or other conditions that affect how the kidneys filter waste. In some cases, further testing is needed to find the exact cause and make sure its not something more serious.
