Diet and Nutrition Tips for Breast Cancer Patients and Survivors

What are the best fats to eat?

The best fats for you are found in beans, nuts, fish, and poultry. Try to eat fish about 3 times a week because they are rich in omega-3-fatty acids. It's been shown that these kinds of fat may actually help to stop breast tumor growth. Do your best to avoid unhealthy, saturated fats found in many animal types of meat and dairy products. These would include baked goods that use a lot of butter or trans fat, such as crackers or pastries. When using oils, skip butter or grease and opt for healthier options such as avocado or olive oil as they are rich in unsaturated fatty acids.
