Lifestyle changes to make

There is an overlap in treatment options for both depression and diabetes. Some profound lifestyle changes need to be made which include:

  • A balanced diet that consists of healthy foods that are high in dietary fiber, omega 3’s, antioxidants, and low in fat.
  • At least 30 minutes of exercise each day, especially outdoors as the weather permits
  • A strong support system such as a support group for diabetics
