Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Mohsin Ijaz, who serves patients in Rockville, Maryland.

Dr. Ijaz is a well-known, analytical cardiologist treating patients at Advanced Cardiology Care in Rockville and the Greater Maryland area. His goal as a practitioner is to improve his patient’s health for long and comfortable lives. He offers a full range of cardiologic services, including echocardiograms, electrocardiograms, coronary angioplasty, cholesterol and lipids checkups, and treadmill stress tests.

Advanced Cardiology Care is dedicated to staying on top of the latest tools and treatments. It is their goal to create a friendly and professional atmosphere that patients can rely on for all of their needs.

Originally from Pakistan, Dr. Ijaz attended the University of the Punjab, where he earned his medical degree. Upon relocating to the United States, he studied cardiology at the Howard University Hospital. He continued his medical career at the Mayo Clinic, where he studied both internal medicine and critical care medicine.

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, critical care medicine, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). He is also an active member of the American Medical Association, and the American Heart Association.

In his professional experience, he is affiliated with a number of hospitals, including Holy Cross Hospital, Adventist White Oak Medical Center, Suburban Hospital, Medstar Washington Hospital Center, Georgetown Hospital and Adventist Healthcare Shady Grove Medical Center.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).

Speaking several languages, Dr. Ijaz is fluent in English, Hindi, and Urdu.
