As chief resident, she presided as the primary surgeon in hundreds of Mohs micrographic surgeries — highly specialized procedures for the optimal treatment of skin cancer. Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, the largest organ of the body; a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. A dermatologist is a specialist doctor who manages skin diseases and deals with both internal and external causes and some cosmetic concerns involving the skin. Dermatological duties include taking consultations, providing screening tests, and undertaking non-invasive surgical procedures.
Continuously advancing dermatologic care, Dr. Tam was awarded the “Top Beauty Expert” Award in 2013, 2014, and 2015 by New Beauty. She has sat on multiple Advisory Board Committees, spoken at conferences about laser therapy, and served as a test writer for the American Board of Osteopathic Dermatology.
Most of her free time is devoted to her husband, child, and extended family and friends.
