Get to know Dentist Dr. Shilpa Khullar, who serves patients in Katy, Texas.

Dr. Khullar is a dentist who is a strong supporter of the idea that having a healthy mouth is directly related to having a healthy body and mind. She believes in providing the highest standard of patient care in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

In July of 2012, Dr. Khullar opened her private dental practice – NewGen Dental – in Katy, Texas. There, she and her entire team are dedicated to providing patients with the personalized, quality dental care that they deserve. They offer a comprehensive list of general, restorative, and cosmetic dental services to meet the needs of the entire family. 

Dr. Khullar’s practice philosophy is comprehensive preventive dentistry. She also loves teaching her patients how to avoid future problems with early detection and regular hygiene maintenance. In 2003, Dr. Khullar earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in California. 

Dr. Khullar’s ongoing pursuit of continuing education allows her to stay abreast of the latest advances in the field of dentistry. Dr. Khullar is a certified Invisalign® provider. Invisalign is a type of orthodontic treatment that helps to straighten teeth without the use of the typical metal braces.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. As a dentist, Dr. Khullar is responsible for diagnosing oral diseases, as well as promoting oral health and disease prevention. Additionally, she looks for abnormalities within the mouth such as lumps, swelling or discoloration, and performs necessary diagnostic procedures to diagnose and treat these abnormalities. 

In her spare time, Dr. Khullar enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves going out to dinner and a movie with them or sometimes just sitting on the couch and reading a good book. Dr. Khullar has been married for 18 years and has three children – two boys and one girl. She and her family currently reside in Katy.
