A native of Houston, Texas, she received her medical degree from Texas A&M UniversityCollege of Medicine. She completed her residency in dermatology at the University of Illinois in Chicago, where she served as Chief Resident. Later, she completed her fellowship in Mohs and reconstructive surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, where she also served as a Clinical Instructor.
