Get to know Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr. Ardeshir Hakami-Kermani, who serves patients in Brooklyn, New York.

An excellent cardiothoracic surgeon with over 900 major cases performed, Dr. Hakami-Kermani is affiliated with The Brooklyn Hospital Center. He is an expert in minimally invasive thoracic surgery and has performed more than 100 VATS-lobectomies and more than 400 minimally invasive mediastinal staging EBUS.

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Hakani-Kermani graduated with his medical degree from Aarhus University in Denmark. He then went on to complete his internship at Horsens Hospital, and his residencies in general and cardiothoracic surgery at the Skejby University Hospital. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his fellowship in general thoracic surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital, under the guidance of Dr. Raja Flores.

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in cardiothoracic surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, an American surgical organization devoted to surgery of the chest.

Among his other roles, Dr. Hakami-Kermani can be found on staff at Mount Sinai Queens, Mount Sinai Brooklyn, Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Mount Sinai Morningside, and Mount Sinai West.

Cardiothoracic surgery is the field of medicine involved in the surgical treatment of organs inside the thorax.
