Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Scarabelli received his medical degree from the University of Turin in Italy, where he did a fellowship in clinical pathology. Following his pathology fellowship, he joined the University of Brescia, where he completed another fellowship, this time in cardiology. Upon completion of his clinical cardiology fellowship, he relocated to London, where he conducted cardiovascular research in molecular pathology at the University College London.

The doctor then migrated to the United States, where he completed his residency training in internal medicine at Henry Ford Hospital. Finally, he completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Mount Sinai Hospital, under the mentorship of Dr. Valentin Fuster. During his senior year of fellowship, he completed a sub-specialty training in cardio-oncology, focusing on the prevention and treatment of the cardiovascular complications of cancer, chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy.

Passionate about his profession, the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Achieving fellowship status, Dr. Scarabelli is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the American Heart Association (FAHA), and the American College of Cardiology (FACC).

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology.
