Dr. Latif is a board-certified interventional nephrologist specializing in dialysis access management. He provides critical maintenance and management of vascular access for dialysis patients. He is the Medical Director of Access Care Physicians of New Jersey in Union, New Jersey. 

Access Care Physicians of New Jersey treats and manages a wide variety of vascular conditions in a safe and comfortable outpatient environment. The services provided include dialysis access management, treatment for peripheral artery disease, and more. A leader in his specialty, Dr. Latif prides himself on creating a personal and connected relationship with everyone, while also providing excellent clinical outcomes. He, along with the entire clinical team, take their time to answer all of the patients’ questions, making sure they and their family members are comfortable.

Alongside his clinical role, Dr. Latif serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at Rutgers Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. He is board-certified in nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Playing an active role in bringing awareness to the dialysis patient community through educational lectures, he currently serves as a member of the Medical Advisory Board of Azura Vascular Care as well as a Senior Medical Officer for Fresenius Medical Care of North America. A New Jersey native, Dr. Latif earned his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and graduated with honors from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey Osteopathic School of Medicine with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree. He then completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in nephrology at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, New York. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Interventional nephrology is a new and emerging subspecialty of nephrology that mainly deals with ultrasonography of kidneys and ultrasound-guided renal biopsy, insertion of peritoneal dialysis catheters, tunneled dialysis catheters as a vascular access for patients undergoing hemodialysis, as well as percutaneous endovascular procedures performed to manage dysfunction of arteriovenous fistulas or grafts in end-stage renal disease patients. Interventional nephrologists work to improve vascular access for hemodialysis and, thus, the delivery of care to their patients on dialysis.
