I will suggest you schedule an appointment ASAP with periodontist (gum specialist) to diagnose and treat the condition. There is a high probability you have periodontal (gum) disease. Diabetes makes your blood vessels and immune system week, which worsens gum disease. On the other hand, because periodontal disease is an oral infection, it can worsen diabetes in patients with untreated condition.
