Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Carlos C. Marinelli, who serves patients in Florida.

A skilled cardiologist, Dr. Martinelli is affiliated with Florida Medical Clinic, tending to patients in the Tampa Bay area. He has a special interest in cardiac imaging and is committed to providing his patients with the most advanced diagnostic and treatment options available.

Throughout his academic career, he received his medical education from the State University of Londrina College of Medicine in Brazil and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. He also completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the same educational institution.

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).
Among his various accolades, Dr. Marinelli has been the recipient of the Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2015), Patients’ Choice Award (2016, 2015), and On-Time Doctor Award (2016, 2015).

Outside of his busy medical practice, he enjoys spending time with his family. He is married and has a daughter and a grandson. In his free time, he also enjoys studying history and exploring the wine-producing regions of the world.
